Human trafficking is a global challenge. An estimated 21 million people around the world are trafficked for sexual slavery, forced labor and other forms of economic exploitation – including 1.5 million in the United States, according to the UNICEF USA. Condemned as a violation of human rights by international conventions, trafficking is an estimated $9 billion a year global industry that impacts thousands of individuals and their families daily around the world – including here in Cleveland.

Kitty Leung, Manager of Children, Youth and Family Services Department at ASIA, Inc. attended a panel today to discuss the scope of the problem, what is currently being done to stop these horrors, and what role can we play.
